Mixed faces in mixed places

Hello, I'm Steven Russell, the founder of Elements SEMH Support CIC and Steven Russell Drip By Drip Consultancy Ltd.

My journey began in the care system at just 6 months old. Throughout my childhood, I moved between 10 foster families, 2 care homes, and attended 5 different schools. Amidst these transitions, I often felt a sense of not belonging anywhere, which led me to rely heavily on myself. A pivotal moment came in 2004 when I reconnected with Dave, my mentor, after surviving a life-altering event. This incident profoundly shifted my perspective.

From there, I transitioned into a care worker role, started my own family, and pursued qualifications in counselling and leadership. In 2019, I founded Elements to support children in care by collaborating with various organisations and communities. My consultancy, guided by the motto "Drip By Drip, Day By Day We Find a Way," focuses on inspiring professionals through my lived experiences.

Having experienced the care system firsthand, I deeply understand the challenges faced by children and young people. Through Elements, we strive to make a positive impact in their lives by offering a nurturing environment for them to thrive. We prioritise education and mental health awareness through one-on-one mentoring and dynamic group work, partnering with schools and organisations to support children both in and out of care.
