About the session

Drawing from my own story and years of work in schools, fostering agencies, and youth settings, I’ll guide participants through what abuse can actually feel like for a child, not just what it looks like on the outside.

We’ll explore grooming, coping behaviours, delayed disclosure, and the emotional impact abuse can have on a young person’s development, relationships, and behaviour. The session is interactive, grounded in reality, and structured around practical steps foster carers can take - not just to spot the signs, but to build trust, respond well, and be part of a child’s healing journey.
